A special announcement

You probably guessed it with this title, but WE ARE HAVING A BABY !!

We are beyond excited and can’t wait to meet our baby.

This year for Christmas, we’ll receive the most beautiful gift ever My due date is December 22nd.

I’m already 4,5 months pregnant (19 weeks for the people talking in weeks) which means I’m already half way through this pregnancy! I honestly can’t believe it, it went so fast !

I was super lucky, I didn’t have any morning sickness, only crushing fatigue for the first 3 months. I didn’t expect it to be so bad but it’s gone now.

I had vinegar cravings in the beginning as well, I can’t count how many jars of pickled gherkins I ate ! But I don’t have any particular cravings now.

Another symptom I didn’t expect is pregnancy blues. I had heard about baby blues (post-partum depression) but I had no idea you could feel depressed during your pregnancy. It’s not everyday but some days all I do is cry for no reason and i have no motivation to do anything, even things I love. It’s obviously hormonal and there’s not much I can do about it but it makes me feel super guilty because I have absolutely no reason to feel sad. What helped me was reading about it online and realizing I wasn’t the only one experiencing that (my favorite blogger Amber Fillerup, barefootblonde.com just announced her third pregnancy and mentioned she’s been experiencing that too !!). It also helped me to talk about it with family and friends.

Apart from that, the baby is doing very well and I can feel it move !!! Such an amazing feeling !

I will deliver in Belgium to be closer to family and friends.

Oh and we know the gender !! Any guesses ??

I’m not showing much yet which is weird aha, I always thought I would have a huge belly !! Maybe that will come 😉

I stopped flying of course (it’s the rule here, even though in some countries like the US female pilots can fly up to 7 months !!).

I’m now working in the office which is totally new for me ! I’ve never had a ‘normal job’ before as my first job was as a pilot. The last time I had a fixed schedule was in flight school almost 7 years ago ! But I’m learning a lot and I’m super grateful. I already miss flying though !

Those photos were taken during a relaxed morning at home by Martina from Photography Timeless. She is amazing, if you’re looking for a wedding photographer, don’t hesitate !! We had such a great time and I love that we were totally ourselves, drinking coffee from our favorite cups and enjoying a day at home. Thanks Martina <3
